DESCRIPTION:The City of Crestview is excited to announce the annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast\, which will take place on Thursday\, April 17\, 2025\, at the Crestview Community Center. Doors will open at 7:00 a.m.\, and the program will commence at 7:30 a.m. We are honored to have Brigadier General Pete Zalewski\, the Chaplain of the Air National Guard\, as our guest speaker this year. \nIn December 2023\, Father Zalewski was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General at the Florida National Guard Headquarters in St. Augustine. As a one-star general\, he serves as the senior chaplain in the Air Force National Guard and is currently the only priest holding the rank of general in the Air National Guard. Alongside his pastoral duties in the diocese\, he also serves as the Director of the Office of the Joint Chaplain for the National Guard Bureau in Washington\, which supports members of both the Air Force and Army National Guard. \nJoin Crestview for a morning filled with inspiration and community spirit as Mayor JB Whitten opens the event with a warm welcome. We would also like to express our gratitude to our sponsors\, All-In Credit Union and Rocky Bayou Christian School. This event would not be possible without their support. \nThe breakfast is complimentary for all attendees\, making it a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow residents and enjoy an encouraging message. SUMMARY:3rd Annual Crawfish Boil Competition
DESCRIPTION:American Legion Post 75\, located directly across the street from NWFL State College at 898 E James Lee Blvd\, will be having the 1st round of the 3rd Annual Crawfish Competition on Saturday\, April 12\, 2025. \nThe crawfish boil competition starts at noon and runs until 4pm. Team entry fee is $200.00 (depending on price of crawfish this may increase or decrease) which includes 1 bag of crawfish. The deadline to enter the competition is Monday\, April 7th. \nFor those just wanting to show up and eat or judge people’s choice\, you can do that too. There will be approximately 900lbs of crawfish\, 80lbs of shrimp\, and hot dogs to eat. There will be information to come on Band and other activities. \nThis is a crawfish boil competition with awards and bragging rights up for grabs for Judges Choice\, Peoples Choice with all new Judging Criteria.On the eating side of the event\, it will be all you can eat with no takeout or to go orders. \nFor more information about competing\, contact Oz at (850) 305-0819.
